The Swift has received a tender facelift.
So let's do the comparison to know how is better than the old model.
The facelifted Swift has just arrived in India. It has been one of the go-to cars for the middle class population in our country. Last year Swift complete 15 years with a benchmark of 22 lakh in sales. Now in 2021, it has come in a little different form. We couldn’t resist to put out a comparison for you.
Better Horsepower
You’ll BS6-compliant 1.2L Dual jet petrol engine which is also there in Dzire. However, while the old mode gave 83 PS, the new one gives 90 PS. Both produce same 113 Nm torque.
Improved Fuel Efficiency
The 2021 Swift comes with a smart fuel saving engine. Be it red light in traffic or when you are taking a extended break in a highways, the engine automatically stops. Great news is that you’ve a better mileage of 23.3kmpl against the old 21.2 kmpl engine. The AMT variant has slightly better 23.7 kmpl. When petrol is hitting centuries in prices, this swift can be your real companion.
Better Safety
The All new 2021 Swift comes with ESP and Hill hold Assist. This sort of give you better stability while you are in high level terrains. The old Swift did have features like Heartect platform, dual airbags, ABS+EBD and reverse parking camera, pinch guard power window.
Improved Comforts
Auto folding exterior rear mirrors, cruise control. 4.2” TFT display are some features which make the pre facelifted version more comfortable than the old version. Also the silver ornaments, chrome finish on door handles, cockpit upgrade, sun visor holder, etc. enhance the look and feel inside the car. Apart, it also gets a little sporty outside according to the trends.
Extra Charge
Well you should extra charge even if hasn’t got anything new as a matter of inflation. Talking about this premium charge, it would be around 17,000 to 25,000 depending the variant you are gonna buy. So the prices range from Rs 5.73 lakh to Rs 8.27 lakh (Ex-Showroom)
The Ex-Showroom prices of latest variants are:
LXI Rs. 5.73 lakh
VXI Rs. 6.36lakh
VXI AMT Rs. 6.86 lakh
ZXI Rs. 6.99 lakh
ZXI AMT Rs. 7.49 lakh
ZXI+ Rs. 7.77 lakh
ZXI+AMT Rs. 8.27 lakh
Conclusion
We really like this mini facelift. Besides design, comfort and safety features we were impressed by the 2 litre mileage increase and smart engine off system which came in a right time when petrol prices are burdening us. On the flip side, Suzuki did not have an answer to unsatisfactory NVH level. This was a little disappointment. But even so, overall it had decent facelift campaign.
