It’s is the third generation of the car and the Skoda Superb images reveal that the car is even more loftier in character than before. The Skoda Superb specification reveal that it’s longer (almost five meters now) and wider than the current generation car. It’s based on the Vision C concept which was revealed in 2014. The car is more sharp, the front get a new fascia altogether and the rear too has been extensively redesigned that has no semblance to the car it replaces.
Superb is powered by the 1.8-litre petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel that powered the previous generation car. The front wheel drive car is available with a six-speed manual and a seven-speed automatic transmission. What goes without saying is that you get the best value for money package just like the last generation Superb.
Extensively redesigned now, the Skoda Superb is sharper to look at. It’s based on the vision C concept showcased at the Geneva motor show 2014 and does not depart much from the concept style. The saloon feels big enough to take on the likes of BMW 5 Series, Mercedes E-Class and almost indistinguishable from the old car.
The modern looking grille along with the completely new headlamps and taillights appear totally in line with the new design theme that we earlier saw on the Skoda Octavia. The car is based on the modular MQB platform and weighs 75kg less than the car it replaces. The list of Skoda Superb colours on offer includes Candy White, Magnetic Brown Metallic, Black Magic Pearl Effect and Business Grey Metallic.
The car seen elsewhere in the world utilises an all-black scheme for interiors with minimum amount of chrome (comparing with the earlier car). The Indian version however employs a beige and black scheme along with beige leather combination. There’s an ambient lightening control to match your mood and driving style.
The car would wrap you in luxury like none other and is extremely well kitted. There are clever spaces everywhere, the most impressive one being the Rolls-Royce inspired brolly in the door, nicely hidden at the driver’s side. All passengers get tons of space, the rear seats can be folded to reveal 1760-litres of boot space.
All latest gadgetry like MirrorLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist and park assist, 6.5-inch touchscreen Sat-Nav system and driving modes make it into the top variant of the car.
ENGINE & PERFORMANCE
The car offers four engine choices to choose from, you get 1.8-litre TSI petrol and 2.0-litre diesel. The 2.0-litre diesel develops 174bhp of peak power, while the petrol churns out 177bhp
In addition to the six speed manual gearbox available with the petrol and diesel, there is a 7-speed DSG transmission on offer but only with the 2.0-litre petrol unit.
Skoda Superb mileage is not exactly impressive, the diesel version promises to offers 10kmpl in city and 14.7 kmpl on highways. The petrol offers 8.46kmpl in the city and 10.4kmpl on highways.
According to the Skoda Superb reviews the car exceeds expectations in terms of performance and the wide range of engines on offer makes it an overall very attractive flexible package on offer. The handling of the Skoda Superb 2016 is not its strongest area but driving modes available does offer some level of support in the ride and handling department and make it quite flexible in that area.
BRAKING AND SAFETY
The car gets a five star rating in the Euro NCAP that says enough about the safety standards this car meets. Skoda Superb features include lane assist, adaptive cruise control system, park assist that further extend the safety. You get Skoda’s crew safety system which closes windows and tightens belts if the system detects an imminent dangerous scenario.
The car’s the best value for money package on offer out there. Has a traditional rock solid build quality. Buy the car lest you wish to complain that you are not being pampered too much.
The Skoda Superb variants are available in Style and L&K trims, we consider the Style automatic the best value for money package regardless of the engine that you wish to go for.

Stand Out Features
When buying a new car in general one must look for things like body panels that are out of line, or load bearing beams that seem to have been damaged. The next thing to check whether the paint is original or it has been repainted, a quick check under concealed plastic panels is a great way to check for unmatched paint. Another thing to check for is underbody rust in humid or sea adjacent areas.
A good way to check if the car has been rear-ended is by checking the boot. Flip open the spare wheel cover and remove the wheel completely. If the car was repaired after an accident the floor will have visible signs as the surface wouldn’t be smooth as it would in an undamaged car.
In the end, always remember to check for complete documentation including service records. Also, do check with the insurance company for any past claims, which will make you aware of the accidents the car has been involved in. Last but not the least, get the car checked from a trusted workshop before closing the deal.

Great ride with extraordinary comfort
for Skoda Superb
No other car can give a better ride in this price range.. Extremely spacious nice to drive. Good for children You never feel tired while driving it Great interior. You can set ambient according to the mood.
The overall car is pretty good, in other words, Superb is a superb car. The engine is so smooth, they are hardly any engine noise inside the cabin, but they are some miss-match as the instrument cluster is analogue whereas the cheaper variant (Sportsline) has a Fully digital instrument cluster. Other than that I think the car is hard to fault.
