INTRODUCTION
Maserati Levante is the first ever SUV from the Italian luxury auto manufacturer for the Indian market that was previewed at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show before its official India launch in January this year. The Maserati Levante variants include three options-Standard, GranLusso and GranSport. Power on this ultra-luxury SUV is derived from the high-displacing 3.0-litre diesel engine with maximum power of 271bhp against 600Nm of peak torque. The Maserati Levante price in India starts from Rs 1.45 crore and it is available only at select cities across the nation including Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru.

The curvy SUV boasts large dimensions measuring a little over 5 meters in length, it sits over 3 meters of wheelbase andhas a width of over 2 meters. Sides of this luxurious SUV are marked by chunky 19-inch wheels, shod in fat 265/50 profile tyres.
Larger sizes are also available on the model as an optional provision.The ground clearance of the SUV can be altered through the air-suspension. In standard settings, it provides the body a ground clearance of 207mm which can be changed to 247mm and lowered to 162mm in parking mode.

The insides of the Maserati Levante are enveloped in dual-tone black and rose-red colour scheme. Customers also get personalization options for the interior trim with choice of wood inlays and leather grains. In addition, there is also an option for silk inlays sourced by Italian fashion house Ermenegoldo Zegna.
The Maserati Levante features an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system supported by Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as satellite navigation.
ENGINE & PERFORMANCE
Maserati Levante specifications include a 3.0-litre, V6 turbo-diesel engine that makes maximum power of 275bhp at 4,000rpm and 600Nm of torque between 2000 to 2,600rpm. It comes linked to an eight-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox with a 4×4 drive system.
In terms of mileage, the ultra-luxury Maserati Levante 2018 SUV returns similar fuel-economy as other models in the segment. Powered by the 3.0-litre oil burner, the SUV is said to deliver decent mileage.
On the performance front, the 3.0-litre, V6 turbo-diesel engine propels to triple digit number in just 6.85 seconds. As for speed, the SUV is claimed to offer 230km/h of top speed.

The Maserati Levante 2018 packs as many as six airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, adaptive front lightning system, intelligent bi-xenon and LED lights and Maserati stability program which uses a host of sensors to constantly monitor driving status.

Coming from the stables of Maserati, the SUV boasts of a plethora of connectivity and comfort tech, however it misses out on some of the bits such as a heads-up display, hands-free parking assistant and ventilated seats which are expected in luxury cars.
