EXTERIOR

Proportionally, the KIA Carnival measures 5,115mm in length, 1,985mm in width, 1,755mm in height and it sits on a 3,060mm long wheelbase. It features an unconventional design and a bold stance. The MPV has a boxy semblance, despite that, use of clever styling prevents it from looking like a typical utility vehicle with a chunky exterior. Upfront, it gets Kia’s tiger-nose grille.

The lower half of the bumper gets an airdam, skid plate and also houses LED fog lamps that resemble ice cubes. It additionally features pulled back headlamps and low-slung bonnet with prominent lines. At the side, there are roof rails and 18-inch crystal cut alloy wheels. The rear houses a LED tailamps and a rear skid plate.

INTERIOR

The infotainment system is an 8-inch touchscreen system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Moreover, there is cruise control, smart key with push-button start/stop system, wireless charger and much more.

ENGINE & PERFORMANCE

The KIA Carnival specifications come with a 2.2-litre diesel engine that comes with CRDi fuel system. The engine makes a maximum power of 197hp @ 3,800rpm and a peak torque output of 440Nm @ 1,750-2,750rpm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and is BS6 compliant to reduce the emissions.

Kia Carnival mileage is 13.9 kmpl according to Kia. However, the mileage depends on the driving style of the rider and the driving conditions.

The Kia Carnival performance is quite good and it is not meant to drive hard and fast. The main highlight of the Carnival is the space and the ride quality and it absorbs every bump on the road. The suspension of the MPV is very compliant and does not let the harsh potholes filter to the cabin.

BRAKING AND SAFETY

Braking duties are handled by disc brakes in the front and at the rear. There is ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, stability control and cornering brake control. Moreover, Kia also offers a roll over mitigation, hill assist control, side airbags and curtain airbags. The tyre pressure monitoring system alerts the driver when the air pressure of the tyre is not correct.
