Jaguar XE

EXTERIOR

Jaguar XE looks sharp and is designed to make it a head-turner when it is driven on the road. At the front, the headlight cluster is sleek and houses LED headlamps with LED Daytime-Running Lamps. The XE also comes with headlamp power wash function and animated directional indicators.

Looking at its side profile, you will notice silver encrusted air vents, body coloured ORVM caps (with integrated turn lamps) and door handles along with curved fenders that are filled with 17-inch silver alloy rims. The rear profile of this car reinforces the athletic look of its front. Jaguar XE Colors offered are Portofino Blue, Fuji White, Eiger Grey, Firenze Red, Caldera Red and Santorini Black.

INTERIOR

Jaguar XE interiors are spacious yet elegant. It can seat at least four able-bodied adults comfortably and provides good legroom for all the passengers. The seats are well-cushioned and can be adjustable for height, it also has headrests integrated with the seats. The seats are covered with good quality grained leather upholstery and also comes with 4-Way electric lumbar adjust. Additionally, it also features an attractive 10-inch touchscreen with navigation, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The dual-tone dashboard is well designed and has a well-crafted instrument cluster that houses a speedometer, a tachometer, a fuel gauge meter and numerous warning lights. The three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel is covered in premium leather and has the company’s logo etched on its middle.

The driver gets cruise control for hassle-free highway driving, speed limiter, lane keep assist and driver condition monitor that ensures that the driver does not fall asleep while driving. Convenience features include twin cupholders with cover in the front, sunglasses storage, lockable glovebox, centre console with armrest and rear armrest with twin cupholders.

ENGINE & PERFORMANCE

Jaguar XE specs come with a petrol and a diesel engine. The petrol engine produces a max power output of 246bhp @ 5,500rpm and a peak torque output of 365Nm @ 1,500 – 4,000rpm. The diesel engine generates a max power output of 177bhp @ 4,000rpm and a peak torque output of 430Nm @ 1,750 – 2,500rpm. Both the engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission which comes with Jaguar Sequential Shift. Jaguar has made both of the engines BS6 compliant to keep the emission norms in check.

Jaguar XE Mileage is 10.4 Kmpl on city streets and 13.6 Kmpl on open highways.

Jaguar XE absorbs most of the bumps and potholes of the Indian country. The performance from the motor is eager and the gearshifts are very smooth. You can even have fun with the XE after using the “Dynamic” drive mode. The exhaust sounds sweet and will give the driver an exhilarating experience.

BRAKING AND SAFETY

Braking duties on the Jaguar XE is done by ventilated disc brakes for all the wheels with ABS, EBD and Brake assist. In addition to this, it also includes six airbags, dynamic stability as well as traction control and ISOFIX child seat mounts. Jaguar also offers a tyre pressure monitoring system that warns the driver when the tyre pressure is incorrect and pedestrian contact sensing.
