The new BMW X3 is the third iteration of the model in India which is currently available only with a diesel engine. Petrol powered variants will be added to the model series at a later stage. The new BMW X3 variants include two trims-Expedition and Luxury Line. Changes to the popular BMW model are mostly cosmetic with some new features on the inside. With these additions, the BMW X3 price hasn’t seen much change. That said, the BMW X3 price in India starts at Rs 49.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). It is to be noted that it is an introductory price and is likely to be revised as and when directed by the company.
Styling updates to the exterior are mostly visible in the front with a double kidney grille, full adaptive LED headlamps and new LED foglamps with hexagonal design. Round the back, the new BMX X3 features LED tail-lamp cluster with a low-slung roof spoiler and chrome finished exhaust tail-pipes on both sides.
At the side, it now gets the meaty 19-inch alloy wheels. The new BMW X3 colour options include four shades-Mineral White, Sophisto Grey, Phytonic blue and Black Sapphire. Sitting atop Expedition trim, the Luxury Line packs few additional features for a more premium look.
The spacious cabin offers generous space for the passengers at front and rear. There is enough space for storing luggage with 550L of boot that can be maximised to 1600L by making use of the 40/20/40 seat split function.
One of the highlights of the interiors is the leather upholstery that ups the premium look. In terms of features, the SUV gets adjustable rear seat backrest, panoramic sunroof, rear window sunblind, BMW display Key, 12.3-inch multi-function instrument display, etc.
ENGINE & PERFORMANCE
The new BMW X3 specification configuration comprises a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine with maximum power of 190bhp and peak torque of 400Nm between 1750-2500rpm. This engine comes linked to an eight-speed Steptronic automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels through BMW xDrive all-wheel-drive system. It additionally comes with paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel and three driving modes-ECOPRO, COMFORT and SPORT.
On the mileage front, the new BMW X3 2018 continues to offer similar numbers as the previous gen-X3. That said, the new X3 is claimed to deliver decent fuel-economy in city conditions and on highways
Powered by the 2.0-litre oil burner, the new BMW X3 is claimed to sprint to 100km/h from rest within 8 seconds. In addition to the above-mentioned tech, the BMW X3 features auto start-stop, brake-energy regeneration and electronic power steering.
BRAKING AND SAFETY
Speaking of safety, the new BMW X3 2018 equips a host of features such as six airbags, Attentiveness Assistance, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including cornering Brake Control (CBC), electric parking brake with auto hold and ISOFIX child seat mounting.
With vital cosmetic changes to the exterior, interior and additional features on-board, the new BMW X3 2018 surpasses its predecessor in aesthetics and on the premium quotient. The model is currently available with a diesel engine, albeit a petrol unit will be added later this year.

Stand Out Features
There are multiple factors on which exchange value depends. Model year, kms driven, looks, insurances claimed and many such other factors contribute to deciding upon an exchange amount. Hence, to get the best exchange value or offer, we would advise you to get in touch with your nearest BMW showroom.
When buying a new car in general one must look for things like body panels that are out of line, or load bearing beams that seem to have been damaged. The next thing to check whether the paint is original or it has been repainted, a quick check under concealed plastic panels is a great way to check for unmatched paint. Another thing to check for is underbody rust in humid or sea adjacent areas.
A good way to check if the car has been rear-ended is by checking the boot. Flip open the spare wheel cover and remove the wheel completely. If the car was repaired after an accident the floor will have visible signs as the surface wouldn’t be smooth as it would in an undamaged car.
In the end, always remember to check for complete documentation including service records. Also, do check with the insurance company for any past claims, which will make you aware of the accidents the car has been involved in. Last but not the least, get the car checked from a trusted workshop before closing the deal.
