INTRODUCTION
The 3 series has been always been liked by the people for its design and luxury. Now, the BMW has launched the 7th generation of the sedan equipped with luxury, technology and comfort. The 2020 BMW 3 Series follows the latest BMW design language with the large grille and lines. BMW has launched 3 variants of the sedan for the Indian market. BMW 3 Series exterior has been updated with clean lines and more sophisticated looks. The sedan is now more angular due to which now it feels more compact when compared to the previous model. BMW has given special attention to the aerodynamics of the exterior. At the front, there is a large BMW’s Active Kidney grille which can open and close depending on the cooling requirements of the engine.
This grille is flanked by Adaptive LED headlamps with a slight kink in the centre giving the sedan a distinct design. There are also LED foglamps for enhanced visibility during the night time. Speaking about the side profile, the sedan has clean lines with 17-inch alloy wheels for a more elegant look. At the rear, the 3 Series gets high-performance LED taillamps with the classic “L” shape. The rear bumper gets sharp creases with twin tailpipes for a sporty look.

The luxury feeling of the cabin is enhanced with the leather upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel, 3-zone climate control, ambient lighting and electric sunroof. The front windshield features acoustic glazing which reduces the road noise and air noise. You can get the interior trim in aluminium or fine-wood.
The convenience features include gesture control, wireless charging, front electrical adjustable seats with memory function and live cockpit digital instrument cluster. The 3 Series now gets the latest generation of the iDrive system with Apple CarPlay and 10 Speakers HiFi loudspeaker system. BMW also offers cruise control with braking function.

BMW 3 Series specs include one petrol and 2 diesel options. The diesel engine is capable of producing 190 bhp @ 4000rpm and 400Nm of torque from 1,750-2,500rpm. The petrol engine produces 258 bhp @ 5000rpm and 400Nm of torque from 1,550-4,400rpm. Both the engines are mated to 8-Speed Steptronic Sport Automatic Transmission. The power is transmitted to the rear wheels. BMW 3 Series also comes with a launch control function.
BMW 3 Series mileage should be around 16kmpl. However, the fuel efficiency depends on the riding habits.
The handling of the 3 series is really good for a luxury sedan, it stays glued to the road and the steering weighs up nicely with decent feedback. The ride quality is better than the previous generation and it absorbs all of the bumps and it is hard sometimes that something is heard inside the cabin.

Braking duties are handled by discs in the front and at the rear. BMW offers many safety features like ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, airbags and Corning Brake Control Moreover,there is Dyanmic Stability Control with traction control and tyre pressure monitoring system. There is Reversing assistant with 360-degree camera. BMW is also using Runflat tyres with reinforced side walls.
