Hyundai i20 is famously known to has won the 2021 Indian car of the year award at ICOTY. It is a third-gen hatchback that was kept amongst the nine contenders competing for the most esteemed car award in this country. The new Hyundai i20 rivals the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Tata Altroz, Toyota Glanza, Volkswagen Polo and the Honda Jazz.

The new i20 was launched in India on November 5, 2020. Ever since it has known to be one of the largest-selling vehicles of Hyundai Motor India. It is a premium hatchback that is based on the automaker’s ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ global design language. Furthermore, it boasts of a plethora of segment-first and segment-best features.
The new Hyundai i20 features a parametric jewel pattern grille flanked by LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs. The front edge has projector fog lamps along with air curtains. On the rear end, you will find Z-Shaped LED tail lamps with the i20 logo. Also available are features like shark fin antenna and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
If you look inside the cabin, you will come across luxurious trends like a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, multifunction steering wheel, blue ambient lighting and electric sunroof.
Being awarded with best features, the new Hyundai i20 delves on digital cluster with TFT MID, Bose seven-speaker sound system, wireless charger with cooling pad and sliding front armrest, while the segment-first features include multi-phone Bluetooth connectivity, Oxyboost air purifier with oxygen and AQI, eco coating, iMT, OTA map updates, hill assist control, emergency stop signal and TPMS. Also, the Bluelink connectivity technology in the premium hatchback offers 50 features.
You will get a choice among three powertrain options i.e.1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine (83PS/88PS and 115Nm) with 5-speed MT or IVT automatic, 1.0-litre Kappa turbo-GDi petrol motor (120PS and 172Nm) with 6-speed iMT or 7-speed DCT automatic, and 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel mill (100PS and 240Nm) with a sole 6-speed MT.
Last but not the least, the new Hyundai i20 is available in four variants — Magna, Sportz, Asta and Asta(O) — and priced between Rs 6.80 lakh and Rs 11.33 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It rivals the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Tata Altroz, Toyota Glanza, Volkswagen Polo and the Honda Jazz.
